The Purest Version of Happiness
After a great deal of grown up dithering, we decided yes to a family camping trip at Fortescue Bay in the Tasman National Park. My granddaughter was excited.
Finally there, the grown ups continued to stress, while the child leapt into joy. That’s the magic moment I tried to capture in this article.
Thanks to Phill Pullinger for providing images of his little ones at Fortescue Bay, quite a long time ago.

Somewhere Along the South Cape Bay Track
The South Cape Bay track is a day walk in Tasmania’s Southwest National Park, within the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. It’s a two-hour drive south from Hobart to Cockle Creek, which is the end of the road. From here you can walk for a week or more along the South Coast Track to Melaleuca Inlet on the west coast, an even more remote place of astounding natural values and beauty. Walking to South Cape Bay is the first day of that epic bushwalk.
I recently had the privilege of enjoying this wonderland and want to share some reflections with you.

Kuno: telling stories around the digital campfire
Kuno is a new site filled with stories and content about our connections with nature, and our love of nature, reminding us that we are nature. As a contributor I was asked to speak at the launch, but unfortunately I wasn’t in town that day. So they played a video of my talk, and now it’s available on the site. Take a look, and be careful, you just might disappear down the Kuno rabbit hole, a beautiful place to wander.
PS You’ll also find out a bit about the two romance novels I wrote in the 1990s…

Kowai Bush and the Mears Track
Visiting patches of remnant lowland beech forest near Christchurch was also a trip into my family's past, present and future.
I've written the story on Kuno, an app/website which is all about the wonders of nature in the best place in the universe - planet Earth.
